Privacy.

Short version: nothing is recorded about your visit unless you accept analytics, and your email address is used only for what you asked for.

Analytics

This site can use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and interviews people use. It loads only if you accept the choice shown on your first visit. If you decline, no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set.

If you accept, Google Analytics collects:

The pages you view and how you arrived, for example from a search or a social post.
Your approximate location, device type and browser.
Interactions with the interviews: when audio is played, how far it is played, and clicks on timestamps or the copy-link button.

This uses cookies set by Google, and the data is processed by Google, which may store it outside Canada. It is used to understand traffic in aggregate, not to identify you.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to Lenore through an email delivery service (Resend). They are used to reply to you.

Mailing list

If you join the mailing list, your email address is stored with the newsletter service (Cakemail) and used to send Notes from Cork Bay. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed at the address below.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosts, it keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to limit abuse of the forms.

Your choices
